WhiteSpider announces today that it has achieved the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification. This is a significant achievement as WhiteSpider becomes the first Non-Telecom Operator, Managed Services Provider globally to attain this accreditation for Cisco SD-WAN. It is a recognition of the company’s commitment to, and capabilities in, Software-Defined (SD) technologies.
“This is a great accolade for WhiteSpider,” commented Cisco’s David Goff, Leader, UK&I Enterprise Networks. “It demonstrates not only the team’s commitment to driving the transition to Software-Defined technologies but also the strong partnership between Cisco and WhiteSpider as we continue to lead these market transitions.”
Headquartered in the UK and specialising in Software-Defined (SD) technologies WhiteSpider designs, builds and supports next-generation IT systems. The company’s Arecibo portfolio of managed services enables organisations transitioning to SD environments to ensure their IT systems continue to run at optimal performance in line with their evolving business requirements.
Phil Lees, WhiteSpider’s CTO commented; “We are excited that Cisco has recognised our capabilities around SD-WAN with this accolade. We have been working in the SD technology space for a number of years now, delivering SD-WAN managed service to many of our customers, so to be acknowledged by Cisco as a leader in this space is a huge achievement for the team.”
More and more, enterprises and organisations across the globe are leveraging cloud-based applications in their organisations, but these are often bandwidth intensive putting undue pressure onto traditional, static WAN architecture. WhiteSpider’s SD-WAN managed service provides enterprises (who don’t have the resource and skills to build and manage their own environment) with an opportunity to leverage the agility and cost benefits of SD-WAN, which the traditional Service Providers don’t provide.
Combined with WhiteSpider’s enterprise-grade global internet access services, the company’s SD-WAN managed service provides a centralised, single point of management for an end-to-end, turn-key network that can be implemented on an existing network infrastructure quickly and easily. The Cisco accreditation demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing the highest level of support to its customers.
Underpinning the new SD managed services offering is WhiteSpider’s unique Arecibo monitoring service that focuses on the user experience of network applications. Any deterioration in an individual’s experience provides an early warning system that there could be an impending issue with an application or device elsewhere on the network. This approach allows the WhiteSpider team to identify and mitigate issues before they escalate, helping to ensure that employees, customers and partners always experience optimal performance.
Working closely with Cisco, WhiteSpider has built a sizeable and diverse portfolio of SD deployments in the UK helping many organisations to benefit from the increased flexibility, better use of IT resources, and faster service deployment that these bring. The company also has its own dedicated SD lab enabling clients and partners to better understand the true capabilities of SD technologies.
“Although the benefits of Software-Defined Architectures have been well documented, the design and implementation phases require specialist skills and detailed understanding,” said Dave Chadwick, WhiteSpider’s COO. “From our work with customers and our close association with Cisco we know we are leading the field when it comes to practical, real-world expertise in building and managing SD IT systems. Now we are taking our expertise one stage further by providing managed services to organisations that have transitioned to SD Architectures.”
